Cable
Hey guys, I am in the process of collecting all the needed Auto Meter Sport-Comp gauges for my dash and just remembered that I have no idea what fuel level gauge to buy. Someone told me that my 280z has a 10-73 ohms sender, but Auto Meter doesn't list that as an option. So how do I make everything work? I did a search and didn't come up with much. Any help is thanked in advance.
80LS1T
Most guys just use the Ford unit. Its close but not a perfect match. I am using a Ford and it is a little off. If you want a better set up I have heard of guys swapping in a Ford sending unit into the tank. Guy
Cable
Thanks for the help Guy. Just wondering, it what way does your gauge read off? Also, anyone know the ohm range of a Ford sender?
80LS1T
It reads more to the E side. It still gets to F. The Ford sending unit reads from 73ohms empty to 8-12ohms full. The Datsun one reads from 88ohms to about 10ohms. So basically when it reads E on my guage I still have about 1/8 of a tank left. So its not really a big deal to me. Atleast I should never run out of gas? LOL Guy
