Scottie-GNZ
A running jogger, in this case Scotties wife was nothing more than another animal to chase and kill. It's instinct. Thanks for confirming the very point I am trying to make. I know there are many dog lovers out there and many will philosophize this issue but I will refrain from any further comment on it. Sentiments were a little high, especially having to go back to get treatment for infection and I sort of regret even mentioning it. I wonder how some folks would feel though if they were the victim having to go through this trauma and pain and be scarred for life?
Mikelly
Plain and simple Scottie... I'd get my gun! Pass along my condolences to your wife. I hope for a speedy recovery, and a better stretch of luck for the both of you! Mike 8)

I hope she makes a full recovery quickly. We had a German Shephard/Husky mix and I can tell you it does matter in the breed of the dog and temperament of the dog ; our Lab was completely the opposite---both were raised by us and both were completely different. I have no desire to own anything now other then a docile dog since I have kids. In a pack, dogs can get even uglier. I'm always on the watch for dogs around my kids and I'll be darned if I let one hair of theirs get hurt by some animal.... Give your wife the best wishes from all of us on the forum--she did not deserve what happened to her. Davy
Guest BigWhyteDude
This is the EXACT reason my mom jogs with a snub nose .38 in a fanny pack. Before she started carrying I was with her one night (dusk actualy) when a yellow lab approched us growling and ready to do harm. We were on the damn of a man made pond with a 15 foot drop on one side and cold water on the other. She tried the mace thing that night, it didnt work real well. The dog lunged at her and i caught him in the side with a kick and kept kicking him till he ran away. Thats when my dad wanted her to start carrying her S&W. So she did and still does to this day. Before you ask yes she has a CCW permit and knows how to shoot. Andrew
