love-my-V8-280Z
I'm working on the wiring of my LT1 and was hoping someone would tell me if I need to hook up wires 540 ORN and 650 BKL or 451 BLk/WHT? I have hooked up PCM D20 and D30.. Are these the only 2??? Thanks! To help others in the future, I have figured out the correct wiring... you need to ground pins 4 and 5 and supply power to pin 16.. Plus of course hook up pcm 6 and 9 as shown...
Tim240z
You need three wires to the DLC: 1: D30 (serial data) goes to "M" on the DLC 2: D20 goes to "B" on the DLC 3: "A" on the DLC goes to chassis ground That's it.... This is assuming that you are using an OBDI DLC. I got my DLC from a Cavalier as the harness did not have one.....
love-my-V8-280Z
Tim, the pic is what is on the car. It don't have any letters just numbers. Do you think i should ground 4 and 5 on the DLC??
Tim240z
You have a OBDII DLC. The OBDI DLC only has 12 pinouts. I recommend that you find an earlier DLC....makes hooking up to tunercat easier.

love-my-V8-280Z
Tim, I have learned that I need to provide power to the obdII, (pin 16) is there a forth wire to the obd1? Also what cars in the junk yard should I look for??? And should I expect the connector to be under the dash? Thanks again tim, Terry
80LS1T
Any OBD1 car will do. The connector is part of OBD1 standards. The connector has to be the same on all OBD1 cars. I cant remember what year they started OBD1 though. And also part of the OBD1 standards is that it must be under the dash. So finding one shouldnt be a problem. Tim240z
There are only 3 wires to the OBDI connector. Any OBDI car will have a connector like Guy says above. I got mine out of a cavalier in the knee panel to the left of the steering column. Tim
