Guest Loose_Screws
I am redoing the fuel lines on my '77 and was wondering if I could use solid steel brake lines? Is there such thing for fuel lines? I've got a custom fuel rail with fuel supplied with high pressure rubber fuel line, but isn't as neat, nor do I feel as safe with it. Anyone have suggestions? JMortensen
You're going to need a rubber line between the engine and the fender. If you put a solid line between these two every time the engine rocks back and forth it is going to bend your steel line until it eventually breaks. You could use ss braided line. Also, maybe I just haven't been exposed to enough brake lines, but the stuff I'm familiar with is way too small for fuel line.
Guest Loose_Screws
Just got back from speed shop, priced SS line and fittings! $87 worth! I decided to stick with rubber line for now. I don't really see any disadvantages with HP rubber line, it's just a bitch to get it off barb fittings and sometimes requires cutting it with a knife to get it loose. Also, my fuel rail is tapped for 3/8 NPT. I was told it would be difficult to find the fittings to go from hard line to 3/8 NPT. So...I just bought more rubber line ($4.40/ft!).
