auxilary
I was flipping through the summit catalog, and russell alum. fuel line is $30 for 25 feet, and they also sell crimp style an fittings, which do not require flaring the line.... anyone have any experience with these? pros/cons? I don't want to spend $120 on stainless braided lines, and I don't want to do 37* flaring and have it leak, hehe http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=RUS%2D639250&N=120+4294924496+4294924495+301356 the adapter: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=RUS%2D639200&N=120+4294924496+4294924493+305138 these would be under high pressure, walbro 255lph fuel pump to feed wankel FI turbo
Drax240z
Yup I've used the russel crimp style fittings and they work just fine. Using them on my car right now with no isses. After all my trouble trying to find a 37* flaring tool around here I gave up and went that route... no regrets.
RB26powered74zcar
I'm using the exact same thing on my car also. I bought a roll of alum tube and ran it from the rear external fuel pump, to the fire wall/fuel rail braided hose. Works great. What I did do is put a drop of green locktite (wicking formula) on the small brass compression ring that you slide over the tubing, and on the tubing itself after assembly, then tighten it all up. This was done only as a "just incase". It probably isn't necessary..
Guest Chris240turbo
I've got 4 of those on my car, 2, 3/8" for return, and 2, 1/2" for feed, with aluminum hard line. they work great, and have been on my car for about 3 years, no leaks, I'd use them again with no worries
Drax240z
The loctite really isn't necessary at all with that style of fitting.
