olie05
If anyone remembers, a while ago I posted a topic about how falken ziexes would do on autocross and street situations. I put the ziexes on the car and went autocrossing today so I can tell everyone how they did... Pros: They don't cost very much ($200 for all four) As soon as I mounted and balanced these tires they were 100% better than any other tires I've had on the car. All my vibrations went away, so I can now cruise at 80mph without thinking my car's gonna fall apart. Cons: Ziexes are pretty bad for autocrossing. They are much better than old shitty 195/50 14's but they slide around alot more than I think they should. These tires wear down fast... I think I put about 2-3 months of wear on these tires in about 8min total (we got 8 runs with a little less than a minute for each run) so the conclusion is that I will get much better tires for autocrossing, such as the Azenis I kinda wanted at first but didn't get and just keep these for the street. David K
I had ziex's. Only good for wet traction, suck in the dry period.
Guest 2slo4u
A little less than a minute for each run is pretty good depending on the track layout. 81zxturbo 95slobaru
Drax240z
Wasn't that the post where everyone told you to buy the Azenis Sport for autocross/street duty? Glad you responded with your results though... Tire wear is a reality of racing, don't fret over it.
olie05
Wasn't that the post where everyone told you to buy the Azenis Sport for autocross/street duty? LOL yeah, I still got a realy good deal on the ziexes, so I justify shittyness with low price. next tires I get are deff. going to be azenis or some other reputable autocross tire. BTW: I came in dead last at the autox! Oh well, can't expect much with only 4 events under my belt... and also it was a porsche event... Highly competitive. Guest 2slo4u
You have to start somewhere... -Everyone can't start out with quick track times and -Everyone can't start out with the best tires Some people have to work for these things... It's the road that takes you there that is the most fun. 81zxturbo 95slobaru
sx240z
yeh I just got ziexes on all four and it was like night and day compared to my old worn out tires. It's so much smoother driving on the street and steering in a parking lot is much easier. I got em cheap too but I wouldn't recommend them for autox. They are great street tires for the cost.
