Guest TBroZ
So I just bot a reman'ed World Class T5. Doesn't come with anything else. So I'll need a bell housing, that I know. There's a HD clutch on the car now with the Saginaw trans. Will that clutch work, or do I need one to fit the T5? I'm guessing I'll need a new pressure plate and flywheel? Will the flywheel on the 327 now work? Terry
QWKDTSN
ok, you need the T5 bellhousing from a Camaro - this is the 'tilted' housing. it cants the tranny 15 degrees toward the driver. you will need a 153 tooth flywheel (10.5 inch I think?) and the clutch to accompany the flywheel and tranny. Guest TBroZ
Thanks guys. I'm about to buy a bellhousing...is there a different bellhousing for the non World Class vs. the WC T5? BTW, where can I buy a complete clutch? Thanks, Terry
Guest greimann
All GM T5's can use the same bellhousing. Jegs carries clutches. I like the Centerforce I. Easy pedal effort and the counter weights add clamping force as the revs rise and keep the pedal from sticking to the floor. Perfect for a 327. Guest TBroZ
Thanks Greimann. So do I want the part #: 183-CF360056 for "Camaro/Firebird 84-92", which is the Centerforce I, or the CFT360056 for the "Camaro/Firebird 5.0/5.7L 1984-92" (Centerforce II)? Either work, I assume...just a matter of the heavy duty factor. Do I need the Disc Spline? As you can see, I know zip, zilch about clutches. Mike C
I would get the Centerforce II even though it is more money. I am very happy with my 11" one in the Camaro, and bought a CFII for my L28 w/turbo flywheel. My experience with CFI is not quite as good. The two I have had have not held up any better than auto parts store clutch. The WC T5 for V8's uses a 26 spline clutch.
Heavy Z
I've got a heavy duty (11") Mcleod clutch/TO bearing. My 327Z is around 400hp and this clutch has great driveability and no-slip grip. I can't remember the total price, but I'd say this clutch would be similar to a centerforce 2. Either brand will do the job for you. Heavy Z
You'll need a flywheel, bellhousing, and clutch for a T5 camaro.
