kurtwwalters
I just bought a 72 240Z no engine or trans and plan to do a Chevy smallblock/5 speed manual conversion. From the posts I've read, the R230 from a Q45 is the ticket for the rearend. I've read that the earlier Q45s had the R200. When I call the salvage yards, of course they want to know what year I need. Anybody know which year(s) had the larger R230? Also, will I need the third member from the Q? Any other tips on the swap would be appreciated. Mike Mileski
If you get one from a 90-96 300ZX Twin Turbo, you'll be guaranteeing you end up with a viscous limited slip R230. Mike Mileski Tucson, AZ
