PG Power Brute or Quaife Differential?

In considering an LSD rear end, I've found two after market makers for the R200. Any others? I see that the Quaife's are very expensive...the cheapest I've found is here:Quaife steal. But who has experience with the Power Brute? Do they work well? I won't know a price until Monday...anyone know what they run, $wise?

I run a Quaife and don't have any experience with the Power Brute. For road race/open track/general street applications, the Quaife is awesome, and that's the best price I've seen. I've never heard anyone dissatisfied with a Quaife other than paying for it. Board member Ross Corrigan has a good deal on installing a quaife into your rear.

Thanks for the mention JT. Terry, I have a complete quaife package including a full rebuild on a good core, the quaife itself, and the setup of the quaife unit.

You can read more on it here MML Quaife Package Info.

Drop me an email, sales@modern-motorsports.com with any questions you may have. Availability of the powerbrute seems to have been spotty the last few years, it's basically a clutch type unit for which I don't recall the costs as it's been years since I'd priced them out. I priced a rebuild on a blown clutch posi R200 I had once, and the high price has deterred me from investing in new clutch units since. I'd rather invest that rebuild and setup money once with a higher degree of confidence. John on this board used to run a clutch type for racing and spent $$$ on a rebuild each season. He went to a quaife and is quite pleased with the biasing and reduced maintenance costs as I recall. I still love the clutch type units but they days of finding used units for lower prices seem few and far between.

Pretty sure the PG is the Nissan is the NISMO. All made by Tochigi Fuji. I have tried to get one for months now. Vendors have a tough time getting them from TF. It may be that the Cal Mini Xterra front diff will work in the 12mm r200 rear, or the 10mm if you can get some reducer spacers made. Also made by TF. It is "only" $449, which is better than everybody else, especially NISMO. Reider Racing wanted $519, but couldn't get it. Actually, they called me and said they had one, I ordered it, and they called back and said "Sorry, they were all spoken for that we just received, but you are next on the list." The backorder list, that is. Been six months now at least and no phone call. Cal Mini has it on their web page, but they had none in stock when I called. Don't know if Nissan has listed the limited slip front as a dealer part. At last inquiry they had not. The Quaiffe is really cool, but I can't stomach paying as much for the diff as my car cost. bonk.gif
