If you just delete everything from that date box, it fixes it too. (just leave the box empty)

why not just run a sql query to update all the user profiles with it?

 

UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_dateformat='D M d, Y g:i a' WHERE user_dateformat = 'whatever the old one was'

 

I used n/d/y g:ia -> 11/08/04 8:11pm
