Guest jamo761
What effects an engines Volumetric efficiency. And more to the point does anyone know the volumetric efficiency values for an L28 and L28ET?

Guest Cronic
Everything in the motor effects VE. Any slight change to anything will change this.
motorsci
ve has a driect effect on performance a turbo has dished pistons for this reason decresing compresion will increse ve this can be done with dished pistons thicker head gasket and cam timing retarded cam will lower compersion advanced cam timing wil raise compresion but you will lose ve
Drax240z
VE is defined as the volume of air (at atmospheric pressure) than a particular cylinder ingests, divided by the displacement of that cylinder multiplied by 100. So if your 600cc cylinder ingests 650cc of air (at atmospheric pressure) then your VE is 108%. A well engineered intake system can easiliy have VE's over 100% in some RPM ranges. Turbo and supercharged engines obviously can exceed 100% VE quite easily.
