what sensors does AFM depend on?

Hi all,

Does anone know what sensor/s does the AMF depend on when/ how much it open and close??

I am having trouble tuning my idle, it won't go below 1.5rpm at idling.

Already test with good AFM, ECU and replace all holes on the manifold.

thanks

i hate the AFM's . only way to lose em' is to go standalone with a map sensor....

but , i welded my flap on my AFM so its open all the time.....

it has a air temp sensor on the inside of the meter , and the flap sends info back to the ecu.

as far as i know , it doesnt open or close by itself

Um.. hmm.. you welded :? the flap open? And your car runs?!? also.. I'm sure a 300zx ecu/map sensor swap is do-able.. (if it's do-able for turbo z's..) and a HECK of a lot cheaper than standalone I believe..

Anyway.. back to the post topic.. The AFM IS the main sensor that the ecu reads from to run the engine. The flap inside has slight spring presure (pushing it closed) and is moved by the air flowing through it when the engine is running. NOW... If you've tested with another AFM and ECU, I'd say the problem is elsewhere.. not sure where to point you though...
