Schlasken
i`m going to use a fuelcell in my rb26dett 240z, and i`m going to make a 2,5" exhaust system from each turbo to exit on each side of the rear. but i was wondering what you guys think. do i need a "x-pipe" like alot of v8 guys are using? and wich mufflers should i use for good performance and a nice sound? thanks Sigurd
Clifton
You don't need an X pipe. Use a straight through muffler, unlike the Flowmaster junk.
Guest JAMIE T
ditto on the x-pipe. I'm using twin 2.5" into a 4". on my RB26 240Z. I'll use a Magnaflow 4" Stainless race muffler. I thought about a dual 2.5" exhaust, becuase it will give better ground clearance, but I want a huge single. I just like the way it looks and sounds from the I6
DavyZ
do i need a "x-pipe" like alot of v8 guys are using? No x-pipe. If you want to, you can use a nice transition Y-pipe (like a Flowmaster Y-pipe) to the large single exhaust and straight through muffler--that would be cool. I'm using a dual 2.5" to 3" single outlet in a V8 conversion. The 3" single is not restrictive as people would think and it will function much in the same way as an X-pipe will for cutting down noise.
