Guest johnymaddog
I'm rebuilding a 280zx engine and having trouble finding a set of piston for a turbo setup in the UK. Can anyone suggest or recommend someone your side of the pond who can supply suitable pistons and ship to the UK. The engine was using standard 280zxt pistons and died from too much nitos. Not sure how much power it used to produce but it run a best of 12.4 second 1/4. I'm not an expert on engines and also need some advice on dish size and recommended safe compression ratio. Its running a P90 with cleaned up chambers and has had an 18 thou scim. The bored are now 87mm. Any help would be much appreciated. slownrusty
Go to JE Pistons website they will custom make any piston you want for about $75-$110 per piston, that is for a forged piston. Also Venolia make great forged pistons for the L-Series. Hope that helps - Yasin

mrcheeze36
Hi John. You can try Ross Pistons also. Here's the link to the website: rosspistons.com I'm going to get my pistons there...ask for Ian.
spork
I'd go with Ross over Venolia any day. I had a very bad experience with Venolia and experienced just how bad their customer support can be (as well as their product). It may have been a fluke, but are you willing to risk $500-700 on it? Ross on the other hand is great to deal with. I've never dealt with JE tho.
510six
http://www.brcpistons.com/ I am having a set of custom pistons built by BRC ,As well as another member of this site. They quoted me a price of 700 for 6 pistons with rings and wrist pins included. They were very helpfull and a few friends of mine runing land speed cars won`t use pistons from anyone else. He said they were $110 ea. a few years ago but the price of steel and aluminum has skyrocketed recently.
PhaTTy
I would suggest talking to Alex Costa. He deals with several manufacturers and can probably pull you a pretty good deal and help you out. His HybridZ username is "zcarsmakemyheadhurt".
510six
BRC will make a set of custom pistons without rings or wrist pins for 500.I am going to be using VG30dett stock rings on my pistons .And the wrist pins from the JE`s were still goog so the pistons are going to cost me 500, plus 15 shipping.
