S13 LS1 T-56 project

Recommended Posts

If you guys couls look over what I've come up with so far and help me fill in the gaps or fix problems with the ideas it would be much appreciated.

I thought this would be a fun and unique project, maybe even a modern version of the 240Z's with carbed sbc's. I've spent quite a while planning and researching possibility and parts to complete the project. Yes I know the difficulty is pretty far up there but I want a challenge.

The general idea is an S13 coupe with complete JDM bodywork and drift bodykit/suspension but having the mellow rumble and power of the chevy V8.

The car will be factory Nissan gloss black and hyperblack rims 17" front 18" back, width is undetermined as of now.

Here it is in more detail:

Wow its excellent that you have such an extensive plan, the best advice is to stick to it. That said, have you seen these suspension components? LINK

Very cool for high horsepower applications, fully adjustable, very nice.

The GM 'F' bodies had the LS1 form '98-02. Only the C-5 Corvette had it in '97. I would recommend getting on http://www.ls1tech.com and getting recommendations on the LS1's - they are not all the same. The '01 & '02 come with the LS6 intake and some of them also come with the LS6 block. The '98 LS1 does not have as good a valve train as the later LS1's. Need to do some more research on the engine.

240zJake: I took a long time to check the SPL website out and was very impressed. My suspension catagory has been altered quite a bit. Thanks

Phantom: I have been looking at LS1tech.com for about two weeks now trying to read as much as possible. I'm planning on installing a stock motor and tranny for now to see how the chassis handles it and to keep things simple. The only upgrades that could come soon are the clutch/shifter and some nos.

This is the area that I need to do the most learning in. Thanks for the tip.
