jerryb
Hey all Im currently fitting a RB20DET into my 71Z. I took out the 3.1 Liter for a "modern" power plant. Anyway I figured I introduce myself and start deveoping a few contacts when things get sticky... Im a bit old school and this turbo stuff is new to me. One thing, I have a contact deep within Nissan that can help me find any part number necessary.....and help order parts for that matter.... I just received these: Z31 Oil pan pickup part# 11110-20P03 Z31 Oil Pan Part# 11110-20P00 later Jerry
Dnaught14
there are lots of good people to help you with this site. Read up as much as you can,,above all do searches. Odds are there have been more than one person who will be doing what your doing, or encountered somthing you will, so read up and do a search. Turbos are a fun thing to get into, espicially on the rb platform, if you do it right you could build that car to haul serious butt. here are some good links to get you started, they might not all apply to your case, but they will give you a good understanding. newbie information http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/turbo/turboinfo.html'>http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/turbo/turboinfo.html really good site- http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/turbo/ turbo maps http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/turbo/turbomaps/
jerryb
Thanx Dnaugh14 Quickly checked out the links and already they answered a few of the questions lurking in my grey matter. My plan is to keep the internals stock, place a VG30 Turbo on it, injectors, intercooler, exhaust and install some sort of electronic control. Not yet sure what to expect but it should rock my 240Z. My biggest anxiety comes with wiring in the new harness into the old car. Should be interesting, I want to have it running for spring! Later!
