busmn280
I'm sure that all of you out there have some info that could help me. I am modifying a L28ET and was wondering what turbo upgrade options were available other than the standard T3/T4. Is anyone out there using any IHI turbos or anything else that spools super fast and can support 400whp? Thanks!
randy 77zt
garrett has a line of new turbos out with ball bearings and more up-to-date turbine & compressor wheels.seen them advertised on a website but cant remember where.not cheap-like $1300 or so.i am sure that if you sized a modern turbo up correctly(not to big) you could get some very fun low end torque . Clifton
Fast spool and 400rwhp on an L28 don't go together. There will be some added lag with a larger turbo, no way around it. If you are in the power band it isn't even noticable. Ball bearing turbos are over rated in reducing spool.
Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt
I don't go with says. A GT30R ball bearing turbo does make the power fast. They do go for around $1,300.00 but they are fast spooling strong turbos. Another turbo I have used in the past is a Misubishi TDO6 with a optional 20G upgrade. They can make over 600hp at the crank with the correct intercooler, EFI and engine combination. I have sold them in the past for $750.00, they are a very strong fast spooling sport turbo. Perfect for a street car.
