pamos
I have been offered a T-56 trans. But the problem it is in a wrecked car.The car was hit hard in the front causing the engine to be cracked. Do you think there might be problems with this T-56. What should I check for. Phantom
For starters I'd look for any cracks or other damage around the bell housing area and at the tailshaft of the transmission. If you see anything - pass.
Bilster
There is two T56's. One for the LT-1 which will physically bolt up to the Gen 1 SBC and the other for the LS1 which will only bolt up to an LS1. Make sure you are getting the one for your application. You can use an LS1 tranny on a Gen 1 SBC using a Weir kit : http://www.weirhotrodproducts.com/
