Guest Aaron
I could not believe my eyes. She was a vision from the past. Today, my boss and I had to drive across town to our company's warehouse. He takes a different route than I usually do. On the way back, I am looking out the window on the right side, and I see a glint of gold from the lot of a small auto shop/junkyard. I believed the gold to be the famed gold snowflakes of an 81 ZXT, and the car they were attached to looked a little too familiar. I make my boss turn around and go back. We ride by the car a total of 3 times, and I finally see enough to know that this was my first car. I called her Baby. My girlfriend (now wife) named her. They did not get along. The car never seemed to run right when my wife was around. I have said for years if I found her again that I would have to buy her back. I am not sure of her current condition. I know at least one window is missing, and based on the grass growing around her, she has been sitting for at least a year. Tonight I will break the news to my wife that I found Baby. I imagine that I will have to investigate further next week.

datsunlover
Hope you get her back... I found my first car (81 280zx) two summers ago. Saw the backend sticking out from behind a house, so I turned around to check it out; A guy had picked it up for parts and was finishing up cutting the front x-member and suspension out of it. Interior was guted, engine trany were gone, and the windshield was the only glass left in her. He said I could have it if I wanted (I'm 99% sure the ownership would have still been in my name) but I let her go to the crusher.. So sad... Guest Aaron
I finally got a chance take a closer look today. She is in much worse shape than I left her. She has several boddy dents, the paint is pealing on the roof and hood and there are a few small rust holes in the cowl area. The snowflakes were there and still in relatively good shape (one center cap was missing), but she had 4 flats. One of the T-Tops is cracked and the right rear window is missing. She is in pretty sad shape, but I don't think she is any worse shape than the 280ZX I already have. I think they have problems in different areas. She was definately asking me to bring her home. I don't even think she will hate my wife any more. She needs to be moved indoors before her disease gets any worse. The owner of the shop said she is the property of a customer so therefore she is not for sale. I left a card in case they spoke with the customer or they want to declare the car abandoned. I will check back with them in a couple weeks.
