Guest Matt74
Okay I just bought a 1985 300zx. Now the problem is that its got a head bolt stuck in it, but that doesn't matter cause Im thinking of v8ing it. Im leanin towards chevy rather than ford because I think it'll be cheaper. Now this will be my first big conversion so if anyone has any suggestions to do this in an effective cost affective manner it would be most appreciated. This 85 is in good shape body wise so no problems there but engine looks like it needs some work. I think a v8 would just be wonderful so any advice would be great thanks. Guest Drive-ability
Spend some time reading about the process. Make sure your clear on the emission testing in your state. Use the search feature to gain valuable information from guys who have done the R&D. Good luck!
awd92gsx
If this is your first engine swap and you have little to no fab skills, I'd recommend going with a '70-78 Z instead as there is little to no information available to you regarding your swap. Not that it hasn't been done before, it just hasn't been documented as well as the 1st Gen swaps.
