jtpaintballwdp
I have a 1982 280zx that has a stalling problem. what happens is when im cruizing along, its fine. Then I pull up to a stop light where i have to sit for maybe 3-5 mins and it stalls out, not just dying it stutters for like 5 seconds, if i give it gas nothing...then i have to wait like 10-15 seconds before i can start it again. first i thought it maybe a vaccum leak, i replaced all the vac lines, retimed the engine, still happens. i dont know whats going on, it doesnt do it all the time, its almost like the fuel line gets air or something in it. can anyone help? Thumper
I had the same problem. It was the ignition module/ power transitor. $157 at nissan. Hope this helps.

Thumper
If its non-turbo then yes. If its the turbo model then no. On the turbo it is located next to ignition coil. Usually connected to the coil bracket. If my memory serves me correctly on the n/a model it is bolted to the side of the distributor. Good luck
george.bryant
i dunno if you got this sorted, assuming its a fuel injected engine it sounds like you Idle control valves to me, my car does exactly the same thing (its auto) when the black plug on the idle control valves is plugged int, unplug it and everything is fine, stalling stopped.
