Update #2 on LS1 T56 & LT1 w/ QM Clutch

The trans x-member is near completion. Cutouts have been drawn on it to show where the dual exhuast are to pass through. Two steel plates were tig welded onto the frame rails for strength as well as on the interior floor. Two bolts on each side ties the x-member into the body. Before anything was welded, I had to strip the underside and interior for a clean tig weld. That was a nasty job, but I got it down to the bare metal. I'll re-undercoat the entire underbody after I sand down all of the surface rust. The aluminum driveshaft is next followed by the rear end conversion. Then I'll only be 25% done.

The boobies are actually the areas to be removed for the exhaust to pass through. My buddy who welded the arm, did it as a joke to pay me back. Once the areas are cut, he'll tig weld a contoured piece of aluminum where the cutouts were made.
