tannji
Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the nissan LSD rear with a Speed sensor, it came out of a Sylvia with the 6 speed tranny and SR20DET. What is the function of the speed sensor, and is it necessary to use that car's 6 speed tranny or ECU? Any pertinent info appreciated. tannji
JMortensen
If you're talking about a speed sensor that is on top of the housing and reads the part of the carrier or the ring gear that looks like a giant sprocket then it is for ABS, and shouldn't matter to your setup. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
The S15's Had The Speed Sensor In The Rear End.....thats The Only Silvia With A 6spd Stock. Btw: Its Silvia Not Sylvia.
Guest PROJECTRB240SX
The Ecu Requires A Speed Sensor.... Either You'll Need That Helical Rear Lsd Or Fab Something Up.
tannji
OK, I saw a Sr20Det, S15 pretty much complete, including 6 speed, drive shaft, and speed sensing rear, with a buyItNow of $3600. Seems steep, but I wouldnt really know for sure. What do ya think? If I miss out on it it is no big deal at all... but I have no idea how common this complete swap is. HeatRaveR
The S15 setups are surprisingly expensive, so that sounds about right. Heck, I've seen 'em go for almost $5000!
