Guest indy
I'm getting ready to yank my windshield out of my 280 in prep for a VR kit (someday). The glass is cracked and is going to be replaced with new once it is needed. Do I need to keep the chrome trim that is in the rubber, or does it get tossed? Also, what's the quickest, non hammer using way of pulling it out? On a side note, I'm having a blast demolishing this car. Never before have I worked on a car that allowed me to toss everything I pull off instead of trying like hell not to damage it. I might have a new hobby of buying old cars just to tear apart. Phantom
Save the stainless steel trim unless you aren't planning on re-using it. If you order a replacement gasket from Nissan or MSA it will have the groove for the trim in the gasket.
y-not
The trin helps hold the shape of the top corners of the windshield gasket. The gaske on my Z was so hard that I had to cut it with a utilty knife to get the windshield out. Bill
