jeromio
Gots to wake up at around 6am (unusual for me). Whole weekend is blocked out for orientation stuff. Wife is supposed ot join me Saturday Night- dinner, etc. Then Sunday we both go off for "Team Building" crap (friend who went thru this told me that I would hate it especially much: "What does this rope represent to you?" Ugh.). School (MBA Program) for real starts Monday night. But more importantly, this was to be my milestone. Kept saying "School starts Aug 16 - gotta be done by then". Idiot. Got a friend coming up for Labor day and he was all set for a ride! Complications exascerbated by extra house remodel/repair work and so forth. DAMN. I fell like I'm sooooo close at this point too. And I really really extra alot was planning (still planning?!) on going to the Mikelly/ZFRacing thing in VA in Sept. Can't go sans Z though. Gotta find more hours in the day..... Phantom
Jeromio, I feel your pain. 8/31 I have an opportunity to do laps at Texas Motor Speedway in my car - but it won't be done yet. 9/1 I have an opportunity to put my car on a road race track in Hallet, OK all day for $90 - but it won't be ready yet. 10/12 my church is kicking off it's new car club - Chariots of Light - with a car show - I'm a member but my car probably won't be done. I'm helping start up a new Z club in Fort Worth. After every meeting we go out and talk Z's - but my car isn't done and therefore isn't there. I feel your pain. Sumo
forget the car i feel sorry for the "what does this rope represent for you?" part. Just make sure you don't answer "just look for a tall tree and i'll show what this rope will represent."
Phantom
Oh yes - and on the 23rd of this month they are having a street car night at Ennis dragstrip - only $15 to enter - and my car isn't ready. Embrace the "team building crap". You're being watched and evaluated. Your responses to the orientation will affect your immediate future. I've been onthe other side. Play the game and you'll come out ahead.
ToplessZ
Hey phantom kudos on the christian car club. Stick with it because it relates to alot of people out there like us car dudes that maybe wouldnt be interested in church otherwise. My father is a pastor of an apostolic pentecostal church and I love it because there are several car guys that go to church with me there. Anyway even though my car is in the same state as yours I still commend you for being a part of what you are doing. Good luck to everyone with an unfinished car. Phantom
Thanks Jared. Name of club is Chariots of Light Christian Car Club and it is going national like the similarly named Biker Club sponsored by Kenneth Copeland, Jerry Savelle & Jesse Duplantis. They are enroling members now and the first official activity will occur at the 2nd anniversary celebration of Jerry Savelle's church, Heritage of Faith, in Crowley, Texas. Stay tuned, you'll eventually hear about them. Had a guy up in Michigan donate a car to the club - fully hand finished '72 Nova with a supercharged 454 in it. Car has won numerous awards for fit & finish, etc. Also have so far a 57 'Vette, '57 Belair convertible, '61 Vette, 2000 ' Vette convertible, two 2002 Z06's, and, eventually, my Z28 powered '77 280Z. There are many more joining up but I haven't had a chance to meet them and their drives yet.
ToplessZ
Man sounds awesome compared to the meager club that lurks around my town that consists of mostly lowriders Going to a huge car show sunday after church I cant wait. Gonna get some rodding inspiration
DavyZ
Hey Jeromio, Are you just starting this MBA program? Is this is a 2 year program or an accellerated (sp?) 1.5 year program? With the usual holiday breaks and such, this can't be all bad, can it? Davy
jeromio
Yeah, it's the KenanFlagler (UNC) Evening MBA program. Two years total. We do get holidays. But, thus far I am getting much less sleep (it's 3:30AM here). Having lots of misc. house projects to finish up is not helping either. BTW, the orientation team building thing wasn't nearly as bad as I had feared. Low expectations probably helped.

Phantom
I got my MBA through Syracuse University. Required 57 semester hours to complete. Took me 3.5 years. 'Course I was working full time, attending Navy Reserve drills, and teaching in my church at the time besides having a family with two small boys.
