Guest nitr0
you can get koni's for z's / zx's custom made $1200AU a pair here in Australia - otherwise some strut inserts made by koni for audi's will work.
260DET
1200!!!!! IIRC a pair of double adjustable Koni inserts cost me around that. But they are a lot shorter than stock so a coil over conversion is best done at the same time.
Guest nitr0
Yer its pretty steep isnt it..... However, at least its a "bolt in" replacement unit - specifically designed by Koni for that car - so its what i'm told "a true koni suspension system". After puttin the car on the hoist today i decided I'm gonna skip that option and wait til someone decides to bulk order from Koni and get them to make a batch. I'm currently building up my fronts with Koni 8610-1262Sport (Audi) strut inserts into my original struts - the shaft is 35mm shorter than the stock ones which means i will get optimal shaft travel with 35mm lowering. The body is about 1-2 inches LONGER than the stock ones for the 280zx, so i need to cut off the spring seat and either move it or replace it with something aftermarket. My plan is to get a Coilover kit from Noltec and install it along with one of their Adjustable Strut Tops and just keep adjusting it until i find the right feeling for the car. Custom springs are like $200-300 a pair for coilovers, maybe cheaper. For the rear i have a set of Koni's they made for the 280zx (part no listed at work) but will still convert to a coilover setup to match the front... Hope someone finds that interesting. I'll be publishing pictures on converting Audi strut inserts into z's - zx's fronts over the next few months and i'll let everyone know when its done. jp 280
paid around $3200 nz for everything in the pic including the camber plates and setting them up, just gave them the standard suspension and they came back ready to bolt in the car.
