Guest PROJECTRB240SX
THEY SAY IT FITS THE 28-48 FORD T-BUCKET WITH SBC..... ITS A THERMALTECH OR PATRIOT PRODUCT. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD AND IDEA IF IT WORKS?
Guest PROJECTRB240SX
3.5" From Flange To Widest Point 17.5 From Highest To Lowest Point 23.25 From Front To Back This Is According To The Pertronix Website.
Guest PROJECTRB240SX
It Also Says It Tucks Tightly To The Block, Fits Angle Plug Heads, Will Fit Most Steering Setups, And Works With Front Or Side Mounts.
Mike Mileski
Just looking at the pictures of them, it looks like they'd almost be dragging on the ground. Mike Mileski Tucson, AZ
Guest PROJECTRB240SX
But 17.5" Is Just Above The Bottom Of The Oil Pan From The Top Of The Exhaust Port On The 350 I Have, It Has A Early 70's Corvette Oil Pan On It If That Makes A Difference. Iguess It Would Be A Trial And Error Fit, I'm Just Waiting On My 327 To Get Here From Hitman47.... Whenever That Gets Here I Can Start Mounting And Fitting. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
IF THOSE ARE ANGLED IN IT MAY ACTUALLY SIT EVEN HIGHER ABOVE THE BOTTOM OF THE OILPAN.... I DON'T KNOW BUT IT IS AN OPTION IF SOMEONE WILL VENTURE OUT AND TRY IT, IF I GET MY MOTOR SOON I'LL ORDER A SET FOR A TEST FIT. THEY ALSO HAVE A DIFFERENT STYLE LIKE THE ULTRA TIGHT TUCK HEADERS: IT SAYS ITS 16.5 FROM TOP OF FLANGE TO LOWEST POINT AND ITS ONLY AS LONG AS THE FLANGE. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
I Wonder If You Could Shorten The Down Tubes To Work?
Psykovertible
I would like to know as well. Block huggers get the job done but I simply dont like the way they look. I was about ready to order a set cause $400+ dollars for the hooker long tubes that may or may not work with the newer MSA mounts is a big gamble. I'm gonna have to sit down and learn how to use that formula someone posted about calculating what tube size is actually needed. Shotening down tubes looks to be doable task but will the tubes be TOO short at that point to take advantage. Dont want to cut our own throats on this one. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
I just wish s&s was more open to modifying an exsisting product. Once I get my motor I'll order then and check the fitament, can always return them to summit.
A. G. Olphart
If they do fit, how much (if any) better will they work than block huggers? It appears to me that they are made primarily to look nice... very symetrical, with no evident effort made to match lengths. I, too, would like a set of long tube headers that fit: truly long tubes (for 4500-6000). My Z will be strictly street, but scavenging headers would still be nice. Jolane
While those are not matched length, they definitely look nice. What size of primary's are available? Square or round port? Actually, if you can point me to a website, I would like to look at others. Thanks, Joshua
Guest PROJECTRB240SX
I found those surfing thermaltech.com, but those look like patriot header numbers, which are located at pertronix.com summit also has pictures which is where the second picture came from. the part numbers are h8018 and the ultra tight tuck is h8017. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
I Wonder If Patriot/pertronix Would Modify A Production Design And Add A New Part Number?
Psykovertible
i like the look of the tight tube style casue the collector isnt so long that as to cause issue with firewall. the nicer looking ones at beginning of this thread look great but look too long in the collector. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
I Definately Agree With That Statement.... Who Knows Though It Might Work? And It Can Always Be Adjusted.... And Its Alot Cheaper To Start With Than The Hookers Or The S&s.
Psykovertible
big time. $450 is a lot regardless of fit. I dont know if its worth the extra money to me or not. Lately I have been leaning toward spending a little extra to just get it right the first time. However, I have my doubts about Hooker longtube headers with my MSA mounts. they move the motor back 2.75 inches from scarab and are only about a half inch higher than JTR. Guest PROJECTRB240SX
I Was Thinking About Calling S&s Once I Get My Motor In And Mounted And Having Them Custom Build A Set Of Headers For My Car. Either That Or Buy There Datsun Ones And Show Them That It Doesn't Fit Properly And Hopefully They Can Fix It.
Psykovertible
I would be game for a group visit. I live in the west valley in El Mirage and could tag along on most Mondays-Thursdays. May help to bring some pics as ammo for the complaint.
Guest PROJECTRB240SX
Well I Would Buy It From Them And Have Them Install It To Prove To Them It Doesn't Fit Correctly.
