Guest TegRacer324
So I picked up my car yesterday and I've been looking for service manuals all week. I guess the first question is how different will a 71 240 manual be from my 73? Second is how different are the manuals that I'm looking at. I have one that has two manuals on e-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7968868357&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 There's one on here that's supposed to be engine, body and chassis: http://classifieds.hybridz.org/showproduct.php?product=189&sort=1&cat=23&page=1 And then there's this site that I found that has all sorts of books: http://www.books4cars.com/result1.htm?imageField.x=117&imageField.y=61&findmake=Datsun Some say they're shop and some say they aren't. Do you think any of them are any good? I guess overall what I'm asking is what's the best book to get that will give me the most info on putting this baby back together. Wagz
Personally, I'd recommend picking up the exact year FSM you need on CD-ROM. I have them for my '71 and for my '87. They are great because they are searchable and each chapter is in its own .pdf file. You can print the chapter or just the page you need. And, when you cover the pages in dirt and grease or tear them, you can just reprint them. Those are the ones that come with every new car and are worthless for what you are doing..... LARRY
Guest TegRacer324
Yeah thanks for the suggestion guys. That definately looks like it might be the best way to go. Plus you can just buy it at a set price instead of bidding on the thing.

Guest TegRacer324
Is there a big difference from the 72 to the 73 service manual? Since that's all the Z store seems to have. I'd get the CD, but the car is staying here at my house and I know my dad will be tinkering with random crap and he'd prefer the book. Courtesy Nissan has all of the CDs for each year of Z. I bought a tattered book from ebay for $75, but in retrospect, perhaps a CD that does not tear or smudge is the better way to go. Plus, you can print out as many pages as you want and bring them into the garage... Davy
