Guest bastaad525
reading the latest issue of Motor Trend, a small article on Bugatti's new Veryon, which is due to go on sale later this year after many delays. And got an eyeful as I read the cars finalized specs: 8.0 Liter quad-turbocharged W-16 engine 18 psi of boost 987 HP @ 6000 RPM (!!!!) 922 TQ @ 2200 RPM (DOUBLE !!!! Look how low it hits!) All wheel drive 7 speed DSG twin clutch transmission Curb weight of 4300 lbs 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds 0-124 mph in 6 seconds 0-186 mph in 14 seconds Top speed 252 mph Can come to complete stop from 252 mph in less than 10 seconds (HOLY CRAP make sure you're eyeballs are firmly fixed in their sockets!) Can burn more than one gallon of fuel PER MINUTE at wide open throttle/full power! No mention of price unfortunately... and also unfortunately, all this power and ability comes wrapped in a very ugly package, IMO. But damn... this thing puts the legendary "fastest factory car ever" Maclaren F1 to shame... hopefully it doesn't come with that cars legendary 7-figure price tag... not that it matters to me... heh like I could afford one either way? slownrusty
Yes its got some impressive specs and there is alot of fuss on this car as its been hyped up alot by the Journalists during its multi-year build. It will be interesting to see the price.... On paper its fascinating...kinda like me...LOL Yasin
Guest bastaad525
well I read around a bit more and they are speculating the price to be 'in the $1 million range'. In the range could mean up to $1.5 mil or technically even up to $1.9 mil I guess But this will be the fastest, most powerful factory street car ever produced, and from what I'm reading, really is pushing the envelope far enough that chances of seeing anything faster any time soon if ever are slim to none. You know, having seen more pics, from some angles it actually looks nice, but for the most part... ugh.
johnc
Its a mythical vehicle. Its been in development for 10 years and is basically just a marketing ploy. I can't believe the car magazines (well, yes, I can believe Motor Trend would) continue to give that thing press.
BrandonsZ
does it HAVE to have a 7 speed... Now I have transmission envy. (building a 6-speed for my Z)
Moridin
Look how heavy it is. McLaren F1 and Koenigsegg offer far better cars IMO. Much lighter, and more efficient. The braking is impressive, if the car ever makes it to production. Sounds like some sort of carbon rotor setup. Anywho, if they are actually attempting this, they are learning how to deal with an AWD drivetrain and ~1000 ft lbs of torque.
mario_82_ZXT
does it HAVE to have a 7 speed... Now I have transmission envy. (building a 6-speed for my Z) Who cares, its a paddle shifting 7 speed. An actual shifter is so much better IMHO. (Or should I say funner?) Mario
Guest ON3GO
i just love what they said about the top speed run. if you want to try the top speed you need to call them and they will send you a tech and a set of tires that are up to those speeds. and then you can go flat out! how cool is that! i love the car, i just wish it had a datsun emblem on it lol. mike
Guest bastaad525
I dont understand the need for a 7 speed either, such a powerful car could get by with 5 or even 4 wide spaced gears, IMO.
