Guest goldraven
Well, I've been a fan of the origional 3 movies, episode 4, 5, and 6. But the first two new ones i've been moderately disapointed with their quality. I just saw the newest edition to the star wars saga, episode 3. I've got to say, its one damn fantastic movie. It blows the other two new ones out of the water completely. Darth Vader is no longer the whiney wimp he has been in the last two movies. The story flows well, the special effects are nice, but not overwhelming. If you havn't seen it yet, I'd say go check it out, its a fun movie to watch the whole way through. If you've seen it, what did you guys think of it? Nick
Zhadman
I, too, had the same impression. Too bad Lucas didn't hit the mark with episodes 1 and 2. I thought he (they... whoever) did a decent job explaining Anakins transition to the dark side.
Guest Battle Pope
I always wondered why Anakin was so decrepit looking in Jedi - now we know! Heavens that was disgusting. Very tragic movie. Much darker than 1 and 2, and a long-deserved role change for Hayden Christensen. He plays an angry character much more convincingly than a whiny one. crazy280
Yeah, its definitely the best of the "new" Star Wars movies. Episode 1 and 2 were not very good, and I was hoping Lucas would get it right this time, and I was impressed. It FELT more like the originals (4, 5 and 6) than episodes 1 and 2. It also ties up all the loose ends nicely. A must see.
HeatRaveR
Anyone catch the "hidden" stuff? Like in the beginning when Anakin, Obi Wan, and Palpatine are taking a shuttle back to the Senate after the rescue, if you look in the lower right corner while the shuttle's docking, you'll clearly see the Millennium Falcon docking in a lower bay. Jsquared
nice, I'll have to look for that next time I go see it They also used "the corridor" in the Frigate that you see in the beginning of Ep4.
akeizm
Just saw the movie today, and I really liked it. Pulled on a few heart strings this movie, was sad.
katman
The visuals were of course awesome. Unlike Zhadman though, I thought Anakin's transition to the dark side was a little weak. You knew it was coming, you knew he had the anger and fear inside that the dark side feeds on, but I thought he went too easy. Great catch on the Millenium Falcon- I'll look for that next time. Zhadman
Unlike Zhadman though, I thought Anakin's transition to the dark side was a little weak. heh heh... I only said it was decent I, personally, think (in hindsight) that they should have cut some of the fluff out of 1 and 2 and spent MORE time developing the young adult/adult Anakin. There was very little time, or sufficient dialogue, to become attached to him in a way that would have made his transition more emotional to the viewer. I'm probably treading dangerous ground here, but hey... They made the Jedi Council look SOOO stupid. These guys are the super-duper, omnipresent, sages of the universe (like frickin level 30 wizards or something). So why can't they figure out that when Anakin brings 'balance' to the force they're gonna get rocked. I mean... I'm much less intuitive, but oh...let see... thousands of Jedi and two Sith. Hmmm... if theres balance then there would have to be more Sith or less Jedi. All cuz of little Anakin. I know it's a movie... and I enjoyed it... but things like this kept me from enjoying these movies as much as the previous ones. [sigh] I must be some Uber-nerd or somthing... Where's my car? I need some testosterone back!
