Guest Anonymous Posted January 7, 2001 Share Posted January 7, 2001 my engine block is still sitting at the mech shop waiting for me to put it back together so far I've only had it cleaned and checked for cracks and he said its a 4 out of 5 with 5 being the best for a good block anywho today I went and looked at a engine I've been hearing alot about so I figured I can't go wrong looking at it It was so pretty! so so clean nice blue paint it has been rebuilt by a good mech up in NJ he builds old roadsters and this was an extra engine he had rebuild it has a performer intake on it with a one step up cam new pistons rings freze plugs bearings and Im not sure what else Im guessings new lifters and maybe pushrods it comes with everything needed even a HEI unit and carter carbs the only thing missing is a starter and alternator the engine block is from a 84 vette from the info I found on the net block # 14010207 Im guessing it has maybe 250-270BHP the only thing I see this engine needing is headers and new heads since it still has the stock heads on it for now I think its a great starter engine for my V8Z since Im sure with power I will break alot of stuff lol total price for engine $500 my mech wants it but does not have the room he knows the guy pretty well and they say its a great deal and the guy who built the engine knows his stuff the block was bored 30 over what do you guys think about this? also what do you think I could get for my other block? the 78? 350 2 bolt main Z Ya Jeff Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
