Guest TegRacer324
Alright well since I have a full on project pretty much now I can see that I'm either going to have to either bring the car to someone to weld or do it myself as you could see if you saw my earlier gas tank troubles post. I figure now is probably a better time than never to buy a welder and learn how to do it. I was just wondering what I could get a good unit for. I want to be able to do floorpans, fender flairs, maybe exhaust, some shaving of the back, basically anything I'm going to come across. I've seen them as low as 120 bucks or so, but I'm going to guess those aren't that great. Also would a MIG be good enough or should I look into a MIG/TIG? Also if anyone has any good sites or books on welding also or places to get info please post them up.
Guest 73TPIZ
Check out this link started recently. Lots of feedback and good info. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101938 Main thing is, don't skimp now and regret it every time you're cleaning your welds with a grinder. I've heard before "get a good welder and a cheap grinder, or a get a cheap welder and a good grinder" Good Luck.
Workinprogress
Also, check out this web site: http://www.millermotorsports.com/mboard/forumdisplay.php?f=3 It's miller motorsports website, yes it is owned by Miller, but if you ask a straightforward question like you have here, you'll get very good responses.
