Guest bastaad525
A 2004 Aston Martin V-12 Vanquish S. All I can say is... Ho... Ly... Crap. 520 horsepower V12. 6 Speed F1 style transmission like a Ferrari. Bea-u-tiful f'in car. Just... breathtaking up close. I only got to drive it one block down the street and back in 1st and 2nd gear. I rolled onto the the throttle for about 0.05 of a second ... the sound was freakin amazing. I was so tempted to turn off the traction control but was strictly told not to. The car belongs to a friend of my boss, one of the members of his Kiwanis club. Really cool guy... not that there's any doubt of that when the guy let's me drive his $300,000 car Long story how it came about but it started when he saw my Z parked outside the office, he used to own one way back in the day, and had fixed it up pretty nice, we were talking for quite a while about that old car and mine, and of course the Aston. He'd never seen a 240z with the turbo motor in it before. Anyways... I told him I'd gladly trade... like... come onnnnn you mean you don't still love Z's? Tell me you don't miss owning one. In some odd way they even look kinda similiar to me. Put it like this, this Aston looks more like a proper evolution of the 240z than the 350z does! The rececessed headlights, low long look, vents in the hood a la 280z... even the taillights look kind of similiar. Though it's much BIGGER. Here are some pics Come on tell me you don't see the similiarities!! Of course, he had to refuse my offer... his loss Even only driven down the street and back I can tell that is one amazing car... everything from the seats and seating position, to the dull rumble at idle and roar when I floored it... the whole feel of it... I mean I've seen ferraris and lambo's but this is the first true supercar I've ever sat in and drove... pure sex in metal form that's about the only way I know how to describe it. Well I've been in a Z06 before, not driven just sat in, but it felt... I dunno... kinda cheap? This car just oozes MONEY... well... no that's not fair. It just ... I dunno like class I guess? Personality? Something that made my heart pound just from slipping into the seat. Oddly, this guy, like the owner of that 325whp Lexus IS300 last week, opted NOT to drive my car when offered. What's the deal with that? I'm not sure if I should feel insulted or what I wasn't going to press the issue but I'd really like to know why they weren't interested And no, I wasn't even going to ... I dunno... STOOP to the level of asking this guy to race me with that Aston... even if I could keep up... I just don't feel worthy In the realm of car related things... this week has been the best week I've ever had since... I dunno since I got my turbo motor running in the Z. SleeperZ
Not quite enough hood to be a Z, but nice looking car.
Guest bastaad525
eh but the nose seems the right length. I almost expected the hood to open forward like a Z as well but nope. I was looking up some more info on this car... it definately takes the cake as the fastest car I've ever driven (if only I could have driven it fast!). Aston claims top speed in excess of 200mph. Though it supposedly only does 0-60 in like 5 seconds... heck even my Z should be able to pull that off. Maybe it just launches way soft with traction control on? heheh from the lack of replies I guess this isn't really of interest to anyone but I couldn't help it that was easily one of the coolest car-related experiences I've ever had and maybe ever will have... a real once in a lifetime thing because I'm 99% sure I'll never be able to afford a car like that....
