Panasport C8-16's

Recommended Posts

I was looking in to getting these for my 280ZXT. The measurements I came up with are;

front- 16x8 with 4.5" backspace

rear- 16x9 with 5" backspace

I have searched to find info on wheels for 280ZXT's but just came up with alot about the 240's. I have heard of this combo fitting on 280ZXT's without modification before. Just wondering if the fronts/rears will rub. I was going to put 225/50's on the front and 245/50's on the rear. I have taken carefull measurements, which tell me they won't, but you never know. My car is all black with black interior so I was going to get them with the charcoal centers. I think this is a great color combo from what I have seen on other Z's. I was looking into getting them from Mid-Atlantic Motorsports for about $410/$425 apiece.

Anyone have any experience with these guys, or possibly someone else that sells these that are priced decently? I would really like Watanabe's, but availability and $$$$ are an issue!

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

Aaron, I don't mean this to be rude, but you are an aircraft mechanic, you took the measurements, and you don't think they will work......what other info do you need? It's all pretty simple to calculate what will and what will not fit without rubbing. Tape measures don't lie. Shoot, you could always make a profile of the tire/wheel out of thin plywood, mount it, and check for clearance issues.

I've got 17x7.5's on mine that I run a 1.5" spacer with on both the front and the back. I was able to install the rims without a spacer on the rear of the car with the 245/45/17's so I'm sure with the right backspacing it could be made to work. Honestly I don't remember the backspacing on mine but, if you search you can find it here on HybridZ and maybe even on Zcar.com. It's been a couple of years but, when I first put them on I had lots of questions about them and posted all of the info.

2126, Yes I did take carefull measurements, made mock-ups, and yes I do think they will work, but I have been around aircraft and Z's ( I have owned a Z in some form or fashion for the past 17 years, mostly 240's) long enough to know that even the most carefull planning, measurement,etc., can still cause problems that a person couldn't even imagine. I am only trying to get opinions and others experiences to back up my own numbers, not have someone make up my mind for me. This is a big chunk of change to let go at once, so I am only wanting to be 110% sure.
