greenmonster80
Looking around at some of my spare stuff I find that one of my N42 blocks casting actually reads a backward N followed by 24. Not 42. Is this a rare occurance and should I be concerned about using this block due to incorrect casting. Has anybody else ran across one of these? Here comes trouble
You should not be alarmed.. One hundred years from now anthropologists will be speculating what happened at the foundry to cause this abnormality. I suspect a dyslexic foundry worker. No doubt some enterprising future scholar could base his thesis on foundry abnormaliteis in Japan during the last parts of the 20th century.. I would not use the block but would offer it for sale as a collector item on that other Datsun website for purists.http://www.zcar.com/classifieds/index.php?method=showhtmllist&list=classifiedscategory&rollid=34&fromfromlist=classifiedscategory&fromfrommethod=showhtmllist&fromfromid=3&clearoff=1& The best block would be the ZX block from 1981-83. RacnJsn95
I haven't seen one, but some people that look at those things would sure be blown away if you were to put your car into car shows with that block. I would keep it, and put it in the car, unless you could sell it and make a crap load of money off of it.
