Guest ash00
Hey everyone This new 240 I picked up a few weeks ago has developed a serious issue with the turbo. I'm really new to this car, and to EFI and turbo's in general- but this car is running a SDS efi, and the garret T3 on a L28 turbo. The turbo isn't creating any boost according to my vacuum gauge and I'm not sure on where to start to look. All the lines are hooked up, but I'm going to try to take it apart to see if there are any issues with the shafts, etc.. In any case, are there any references or anything I can see online with references to this turbo? Hell, from who knows if the previous owner said it was a T3 was actually telling the truth. I have a lot of investigating to do... thanks in advance
VinhZXT
It could easily be the signal line to the gauge has broken off. How does the car drive BTW?
JMortensen
Vacuum gauge??? Turbos need load to create boost, so if you're looking for boost on a vacuum gauge that you've hooked to the manifold and you're just revving the car in neutral you won't get any boost. If you can drive the car with the gauge hooked up then you'll see some boost. T3 was the stock turbo on the L28 turbo, so it probably is a T3.
