TheNeedForZ
Wow they really put effort into designing it. It is only 231 kilo. Wonder how much LS1 weights. BTW 2dB noise reduction roughly equals to 20% reduction.
kj280z
The VK56DE is 228kg which is about 501 pounds... not sure what an LS1 weighs
desert dog
According to the book I found, an LS1 weighs 430 pounds...
kj280z
The LS1 weighs 503 pounds & 620 pounds dressed as per a hotrod magazine article I read awhile back.
kj280z
So... Doing some analysis, the intake runners are 22 inches long! This obviously was done to maximize torque but it also creates a big barrier to swapping this engine into a Z... The height of the motor with the intake installed is 31 1/2 inches as opposed to 26 inches without it. A custom "low profile" intake manifold would have to be fabricated to make it fit. More measurements to follow...
kj280z
The Stillen SC kit... Won't fit under the 240z hood... misses it by 4 inches... maybe a custom hood is in order!
