Guest JAMIE T
I have a very patient customer named Stan. He purchased my Cobra hubs some time ago. After trying them on his car with non-Cobra rotors(I was SURE they would fit standard Mustang rotors if they fit the cobra rotors). They did not fit. I was imbarressed, he was mad, and I had to eat crow. That was OK, I owed him a functioning set of brakes. So, I had him send me all of his components(2003 Mustang GT brakes, non-Cobra) including his strut housings. He was going with coilovers anyway, so I am prepping the struts for them also. I bead blasted the strut housings and cut the oe perch off. I had to turn the OD of the hub down to fit inside the GT rotor and have them re-anodized. So, now am ready to cut the stock caliper tabs off and weld new ones in place to fit the twin piston GT caliper. The Datsun strut/knuckle part welds very nicely, so welding new caliper brackets on is perfectley acceptable. Thanks Stan for being patient! I have not forgotten about you! Guest JAMIE T
You should see my other one. It's a blanchard ground 3/4" 4x8 steel plate that was ground down to 5/8". The base is 4 x 6 rect. tubing and it's on wheels.
240Z2NV
It looks as great as your rear suspension set-up. Almost wish that I hadn't commited to the MM Adjustable set; but, I'm certain that Ross' design is quite good. Back to the brakes. I'm glad that we were able to get past the 'rough spots' and work this whole thing out. I am certain that the finished product will be WELL worth the wait. And, most importantly, you showed the integrity that is sorely lacking these days. I wouldn't hesitate to buy items from you in the future. I am extremely loyal to people and/or businesses that "walk the walk". My project has been significantly derailed after I was runover by a hit & run drunk driver (as a pedestrian). Still mending; but, anxious to get back on the 'horse' (my Z project). By the time that the pieces arrive back on 'my' coast, I will hopefully be in a better position to get the front set-up installed and closer to a 'roller'. Thanks again for your diligence.... Guest JAMIE T
Get well soon Stan. Good to hear from you. I was hoping you'd chime in. Do you want me to powdercoat or paint these struts?
240Z2NV
If given a choice...powdercoat; but, do what makes Life easiest on your end. Thanks.
