violacleff Posted October 18, 2005 Share Posted October 18, 2005 So my boss lets me drive his '85 Bitter SC coupe as my own. Its got a str8 6 3.9 opel motor. Anybody ever seen one of these cars before? I cant help but think how cool it would be to V8 this car with an LT1 or something whenever the o.g motor dies. Or maybe a datsun L28et? There were only about 500 of those made so I believe it should have some value and besides, why do you think that little V-8 will die? slownrusty Posted October 18, 2005 Share Posted October 18, 2005 Bitter cars were highly respected at one time in Europe (late '70 to mid '80s), Erich was a former big wig or head engineer at Opel and had an alliance with them (if I remember correctly and as per Scottie's reply). I was just thinking that gm motors dont usually last long as say honda or nissan motors. So just thinking into the future. Perhaps this is one car that should stay all original for its value. RPMS Posted October 18, 2005 Share Posted October 18, 2005 Geez, I LOVE those cars. They're right up there with the BiTurbo and the M5 as my favorite 80's cars. I wonder if there's any old Aston Martin Lagondas running around? I saw one a few years back selling for $20k, but I'd be scared spitless to own one unless I was filthy rich.
