Guest WISCZ
My first listing but have been faithfully searching and not finding answers. Currently doing a swap of an '82 turbo into my stock '72. Both engines and transmission are out of the car and now need to finish the fuel delivery before installing the new engine. Will be retaining the '72 fuel tank (without a surge or sump added) but may need to remove it to fix a vent tube. Both supply and return lines running to the engine bay have been removed. So need to ask.. 1. Size of new alum. fuel lines, both supply and return? Will be using the Walbro fuel pump. 2. Is the 3rd line (vent line) from the tank to the left side of the engine bay be needed? If so, is it hooked up the same as in the '72? 3. Can the stock '72 fuel tank be used with out any modifications to the 2 fuel line connections? If not what size should they be changed to? Not looking to use the drain outlet for the supply line as had been suggested and tried. 4. Can the stock FPR be used along with a fuel rail? Appreciate any responses. More questions may follow. dapiper
I used 280 tank on my old '73 turbo conversion, which has larger outlet for pump. Any old Bosche pump from an EFI car, i.e. rabbit, golf will support over 400 hP. Check bone yards. OK to use 3/8" alum tube line for supply and 5/16" for return. I also used stock rail and reg for a while, but not ideal, since much pressure fluctuations on small 5/16" rail.
