ZR8ED
Man I love that sound. Hanging around the NEW local street rod /racer hangout (coffee shop) this past weekend. I got a lot of attention when I pulled in. Seems I've been spotted around town and attracting some attention and curiosity among the racer crowd. I live in a huge muscle car town, and respect is something I have never got much of from these guys so I have been on a personal crusade over the years to rack up a kill list of domestics. Imports are not safe from me either. Kinda like a lone wolf... or rabid wolverine hehehe Talked to a ton of guys asking "what the heck is it?" or "is that a Z? I always liked those cars" No offers/challenges for races though. They have heard the car before and they ALL say the same thing.. loudest turbo they ever heard, and that BOV is the wildest thing they ever heard!! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! PPSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH!!!! Had a friend leave after I pulled out. I got a cheer and applause as I pulled out! he said. AHHHH "I love it when a plan comes together" oh.. I was running 16psi.. big difference from 13psi. Enjoy your Z's guys and gals. ZR8ED.
ratedZ
Hey ZR8ED, I see the beast is treatin ya well. I was wondering what type of BOV you where running. Is it really really loud? I've seen one from TurboFX I believe that claimed to be one of loudest in the industry. Thanks and try to keep your foot off the gas pedal lol. ZR8ED
Hey Rated Z. It is a TurboXS type H BOV. it is adjustable, but it vents to atmosphere. as an eg. my buddy can hear my turbo and my BOV every time I shift with his windows up, and 50ft in front of me... he can always tell when I'm on the throttle, and uses it to get a jump on me.. (just playing around tho. I can match him with 1/2 thottle) hehehe he doesn't really like that part too much..hehehe now he wants to go turbo. I can make people jump on the sidewalk if I shift when I pass them. Its like a truck bleeding off his air brakes.. ... Loud. I never floor my car.. "you see I had a hole cut in the floor. I smash the gas pedal 2ft beyond the floor. I stretch out my leg all it can suffer!" Boost is addictive man.... BIG time!!!
scottyMIz
i got a blitz bov and it's pretty loud too.Everyone around here has never heard a bov before so they think i'm breaking stuff when i let off the throttle under boost hey ZR8ED are you still using the stock turbo or do you have a hybrid? What i are you using again? ZR8ED
Hey Scottie. I'm running a stock VG30ET motor with an I/C, throttle body, exhaust, and upped the boost. I do have a motor being rebuilt as we speak, and I just picked up a t3/t4 hybrid for it. It is getting lower end work, head work, etc.. Looking for 400 hp. Easy to say.. hard to achieve. Guest bastaad525
If only I had known 5 years ago what I know now... all the money spent on building up an N/A engine would be residing happily now in a fast-as-all-hell turbo setup life is not fair
Guest Anonymous
The TurboXS H is the one I just ordered! Can't wait either. ZR8ED you ever think about twin or staged turbos? What single hybrid are you ordering? You have the displacement to really make use of a 60-1, making 400 horseys at the WHEELS !! -980mak
Lockjaw
I had to plumb my BOV back into the intake tract or my car would go way rich every time the thing vented. The car would stumble when I got back on the throttle. I have the small HKS one, and I had the big HKS one, but I let a buddy sell it and he has't replaced it yet. You should hear the thing when it comes up and boost and you shift, it is pretty cool sounding. That turbo XS one is supposed to be a good unit.
