TomoHawk
I've been looking around for anMSB Blaster II coil for my 280Z. It's supposed to be a better upgrade than stock because it has a resistance of 0.73 ohms, with the best range being 0.4- 1.0 Ohm (according to zgarage.com ). Anybody know where a common place to get one? All the online stores i've tried (AutoZone, Murray's) don't have it.
Cruez
I believe I got mine from Doug Herbert's... when his shop was in Cherryville. Prices seem to be pretty good.. http://www.dougherbert.com/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=b76dc5ae42e60bb553a093715beb11f3&keywords=blaster&osCsid=b76dc5ae42e60bb553a093715beb11f3
TomoHawk
Doyou think those graphics will come off the chrome coil? I'd like to keep the clean, plain-wrapper looks under the hood. Maybe even paint the chrome matte black or something
Cruez
I'd have to look at it later today...
Ed260Z
www.Summitracing.com They have them on sale right now. I like the Crane PS-60 coil myself, but get what you like.
SpeedRacer
I have the red MSD Blaster 2 on my car and the MSD sticker just peeled right off it. I would guess that the chrome one has the same sticker on it. Are you, or have you, added an MSD ignition to your car? Multiple Spark Discharge doesn't operate like a standard ignition and works better with a coil designed to handle the multiple firings. BTW, a coil could be rated at 1.21 million jigowatts but it will only produce what is necessary to fire across the gap of the plug. Who gives a rip about the resistance reading? SonOfZZZap
I have a 77 280Z that is virtually bone stock... no ignition mods or anything of that nature. I run a blaster 2 and have never had any problems. They are readily available at Autozone and are 35-40 dollars. ZZZap
