Would you have to remove it and cap it off if you were going to run more then 10psi of boost? No.. Personally I think that a BOV has it's place in the turbocharged vehicle but, at 10 psi it's not madatory. I once spoke at length with Corky Bell about many things and one of them being BOV's. His thought's on the subject were that the engineers that designed the turbos took in account the reverse flow that the compressor wheel would see and engineered around it.
