Guest nwzeeman
Hi Guys, I just bought a rebuilt 1406 Edelbrock carb off of ebay...I've got it installed, but wanted to know if there is a 'default' position of the mixture and idle screws for engine start up. I've heard "screw them in all the way, then back them out 1.5 turns" but wanted to see if any other Edlebrock carb owners could give me some info, as the carb didn't have any documentation with it. Thanks. -Rod '78Z soon to be a Velo Rossa 350 sbc with edelbrock intake, carb, cam T5 5-speed
patzky1
That should work fine to get it started for the first time. Then just set the idle speed and needles like you would do with any other carb, using a vacuum gauge to find the highest vacuum at idle. You'll be set, it's easy. Guest nwzeeman
Thanks for the help...I seached edelbrock.com and saw nothing about installation manuals...only products and catalogs. I'll do some more searching. -Rod
fastzcars
nwzeeman. I found the carb install maunels in the "JOB OPENINGS" link of Edelbrocks main webpage. Then I hit the " Automotive" link at the top. then the carb link at the left. It's kinda funny and round about way of getting the info? Good luck.
