Hi, new to this group. Been reading up for quite a few weeks and great info. I'm using a new 15 lb. nodular camaro flywheel and noticed it doesn't have locating dowels/pins for the pressure plate. The parts guy at the dealer says the pressure plate holddown bolts are shouldered (which he ordered). Is this true? Mike (74 260z, 350sbc, T-5)

We actually ran into this on a buddies Camaro and the dealer is correct. Make sure you get the right bolts though... Don't just throw regular grade 8s on it. The factory bolts have the right shoulder/ taper and work well... I was nervous about this until I saw it in the shop manual for that car... Forget what year it was, but I'm sure they did it for atleast two or three years. I know the LS1 motor has them though.

Welcome to the board!

Mike
