Guest 73Turbo240z
Alright i've got it all apart, i'm trying to line it all back up for reinstall... and i was reading the 83' FSM about timing the motor, and saw this... i went and looked at mine, and i think it may be wrong, but since i'm not familiar w/ the term camfered i'm wasn't sure.... heres mine... i'm stalled now, waiting for a straight answer on this, in the mean time i've already cleaned my deck surfaces, found 2 locating dowels thanks to a fellow board member, and will move on as far as i can till this is answered. AK-Z
Looks Right to me. I actually have drive gear/shaft right here and looks like it matches up. And if you were to put it on backwards it would still be the same thread direction anyways.
1 fast z
All you do is put the ID beveled edge torawards the rear of the car, slip that end on first. THE BIG BEVELED EDGE.
zeiss150
Don't feel bad I had that same question when I built up my L28. If you look on the inside diamiter of the gear you will see the "chamfered" (beveled) edge. When I was stumped on this one it was because I was looking at the outside edges ... they're both chamfered! Good luck Rock on Z people!
