jmark06
I'm rebuilding an 82 turbo motor and want to replace the clutch before I put it back in. I've read about using a stock Daikin or Exedy clutch kit with a "heavy duty" pressure plate. This sounds good to me because I don't want a super stiff pedal but I don't want slippage either. Does anyone know a specific model or part number for this pressure plate? I have a 240mm turbo flywheel and hope to eventually have around 250-300 hp daily driver without much racing. mario_82_ZXT
I have the Exedy clutch and PP and I don't know if its lack of break in (only about 300-400 miles on it) or the fact that my car isn't making stock power anymore, but it doesn't seem like its going to hold up too long. Sometimes it slips, sometimes it doesn't.... But anyways, isn't it the PP that creates a stiff pedal? Mario
Jersey
The ACT HD PP # is N-013 and from what i've seen, it's the same as exedy. Matter of fact, the last 2 kits i bought from ACT, Exedy was stamped on the PP. I spoke with a tech from ACT a while back and he explained that what they basically do is buy the PP's from Dalkin then modify them. More spring pressure=better torque capacity=stiffer pedal. Sorry didn't really answer your question but thought i'd share what i know. GL.
