Guest 240hybrid
yeah I saw that retro styled mustang....from the short internet page on it I read their sticking with the 289 4.6 liter though. I would've liked to see the boss 302 back. Maybe they have a sport/GT model with the 302??? body styling looked pretty nice though.
Georgia Flash
Engine aside, that is one sharp lookin Detroit made car. On a side note, we chased a V-6 powered Mustang the other night and the guy was hauling a$$! He lost the lead Police Interceptor and got away. I was the secondary car in the chase. We found the car a short time later but the driver had fled. That V-6 Mustang impressed me to say the least. By the way the road was a two lane with multple curves and hills and dips. Sumo
How could a V-6 Mustang outrun the interceptors? Did he lose you on the curves? I helped a friend drive home an interceptor once from a sheriffs auction. Considering the hours and miles on the car it still performed nicely except on some of the sharp turns. Anyway he's only going to use it for a year and try to get a DPS Camaro on the next auction.
383 240z
Wow my taste must be way different from everybody elses I saw that car on motortrend tv a little while ago and I thought it was BUTT UGLY of course I really never did like the mustangs lines (I sort of liked the 70-71ish MACH 1's) but that is about it. Oh well to each their own I guess. Keith
Georgia Flash
Yep it was a combo of curves and the will to drive the wheels off a car to escape the law, and of course like I said I was not the lead chase car You would be surprised at how well someone will drive to get away. Consider the fact he had nothing to loose and you have everything to loose and it makes sense. This kid is a meth dealer and already had an outstanding warrant for his arrest when the chase began. Not to mention his license are revoked and he knew the roads alot better than did we. The chase went into neighboring counties on his home turf. The interceptor is a fast car and I can personally say that in 12+ years of law enforcement that I have never lost a car that I started chasing. I have lost a couple when they foot bail but I aint the fastest white boy around
tsumner
So does this mean we'll be seeing a light bar on the z?
Sumo
Wow, only a kid and already a loser, be careful out there. Maybe your P.D. will purchase an 05 Police Mustang!
Georgia Flash
Nah I think that I will pass on the light bar idea for now lol. The current department I work for is a small one about 28 road officers. I do not know that I would have been able to keep up with the Mustang but I would sure liked to have tried. Most often times when a chase starts the secondary officer in the chase isn't supposed to pass the initiating officer. Especially on dark curvey two lane country roads. However, had we been out on I-75 it would have been a whole different story The Police Interceptor would have walked that little V-6 Stang down and had it for lunch A side note, we chased a van the other night (Thursday) in the rain and he turned off his head lights and was passing cars on the wrong side of the road on a hill no less! We caught the guy a short time later after the on-duty supervisor called off the chase for being too dangerous. The guy still had his drugs on him when we chased him through the woods and tackled him. You would think that he would have at least lost the drugs before we caught up with him.
