Guest Anonymous
Hello everyone out there. Just wanted to say that I love my v8zx I had yet to take it out and see what it would do. Needless to say, I'm really impressed. The heads and cam and new diff I put in really really made a huge difference. My bro has a stock 280zx with his heads bored out .08 and some other mods. I had no idea that I was running that quick. We raced on a old deserted road in rural Oklahoma and had a blast, till the cops showed up. To make a long story short though, he let us go and we got lucky. I just can't wait till the drags open so I can really see my real times. I think Kevin was right though, I can really see it being a 11 sec car. I was hitting speeds faster then 105, so we shall see. Just wanted to spread my story. Talk to everyone later. sean P.S. Mr. Kelly, I read your bio on your car and you mentioned that you built your car to run with the vipers and c-5's. I was looking on the web, and they said the vipers only run 12.2 in the quarter, is that true? What about the c-5's? I mean I thought they would run faster. It's just kinda cool to say that I can out run a viper, (least in the 1/4 ) ------------------ "I feel the need, the need for speed!!" "Don't hate the player, hate the game!" Mikelly
Well Ellobo, that has been my beef with the auto industry for quite some time... What I consider a supercar and what they (Detroit and Japan) consider a supercar are worlds appart... My car will someday be one... hopefully in the year 2001! Congrats on your ride! Kevin Shasteen
Congratulations Ellobo; Sounds like the car hooks well. I'm jealous-still havent been able to budget my conversion in yet. By the way; I remember you decided you wanted to go to a T-56; I posted some Dallas Salvage Yard ph#'s; did you see that post? Let us know when you get a chance to go thru the 1/4 traps: I'm expecting Low 12's or high 11's from ya!!
Guest Anonymous
Kevin, I didn't get those #'s, I'll go look now. As for the times, I'm thinking I can get those as well. I have this one friend who thinks he knows everything and says it's so hard to get a gasoline car to run under 12. I don't know where he thinks that. He has obvisouly never worked on any car in his life. Oh well, gotta love those type of people. Mike, I agree so much on your post. There are worlds of difference between Detroit and Japan, and even people themselves. Until the drags open, I'll be working on my body and interior now. Hopefully have that looking good by summer. Then it's off to have more fun with the engine See you all later ------------------ "I feel the need, the need for speed!!" "Don't hate the player, hate the game!"
