Lunar240z
I'm deciding to go with megasquirt 'n' EDIS, that will solve the dizzy problem.

Lunar240z
Here it is! the 6 speed tranny i took the intake and exhaust manifolds off to make it a bit easier to move around, [and i'm changing them anyways] it's really nice working on a new motor thats clean, and you don't have to fight every rusty nut and bolt. i'm picking up an engine stand for it later today. tannji
Sweet!! That looks so nice... makes me wish I was going that route... but I have seen a couple pics of 1UZ's and 2RZ's spiffed up and powder coated, looking almost as nice. Good luck with the build! Hugh
Scott/Enthalpy is the one who tuned that Enjuku car. 400hp is no problem on a stock SR20DET. Tuning is the key. Tuning, tuning, tuning. If you don't tune it right, it will pop at 200hp.
Hugh
Here it is! I would strip all the stuff off the 'back' of the motor and use a standalone that reads timing from the crank. Swapping the ignition from distributor to coil packs with ignitor is not gonna be a simple task. It has been done in the past... but I'd rather drop the whole thing. Tec3, SDS, or something the like would be great in this case.
Lunar240z
yeah. I'm planning on doing a megasquirt 'n' edis, just because it's inexspensive, and i like diy stuff...
Hugh
What about using an output from a standalone to switch the VVL? Is it like on the S14 engine where you have a little electronic solenoid that can be switched on to adjust intake cam timing? It sure would be interesting to tune.
